Hi, I'm PleasureNerd, but you can call me Ellie.
I'm a Cambridgeshire-based artist specialising in portraiture. My current medium of choice is alcohol markers.
My vibrant portraits and infectious laugh are well-known across social media platforms. Since 2023, I have been working on an ongoing series of monochromatic single alcohol marker portraits. This series started as a fun little exercise to swatch my alcohol markers and has now unfolded into something much more!
Over the last 3 years, I posted short-form videos on Instagram and TikTok. In 2024, I finally moved over to YouTube to share my art and help others with their own artistic journeys.
Portraiture
My passion for portraiture and people has been evident throughout my work. I will try to explore other subjects but portraiture is where my heart lies!
I've always had an interest in the human face. From the hair on the top of your head down to your chin, it's all beautiful to me!
As I progress with my portraiture, my appreciation of 'unconventional' or 'everyday' beauty grows. I want to create art where people see their facial features in a positive and attractive light. Many features like hooded eyes or hooked noses are underappreciated. I want to change that with my art and highlight a broad range of faces, all are beautiful.
Colour
I also discovered a deep love and appreciation for colour. I spend a ridiculous amount of time thinking about colour and how to utilise it within my portraits. In the upcoming year I plan to create a course centred around colour theory and utilising it within portraiture.
Goblin/Gremlin
My goblin/gremlin persona came during a time when I was hesitant to show my face on camera. I felt that a cute avatar would be more appealing to a wider audience. Whilst I no longer feel the need to utilise this persona, I still thoroughly enjoy using her in thumbnails and content cross my platforms.
